Recently, the FURUI LNG fuel tank project for MSC Cruises’ luxury vessel, supported by DIMONDS with core cryogenic insulation technology, has been successfully completed. This significant milestone marks a breakthrough for China in the application of ultra-low temperature insulation materials within the high-end marine equipment sector.
For this project, DIMONDS’s independently developed Ultra-low Temperature Spray Foam System was successfully applied in constructing the insulation layer for the cruise ship’s LNG fuel tanks. This material boasts exceptional cryogenic stability, extremely low thermal conductivity, and outstanding sealing performance. Capable of long-term stable operation in the harsh environment of -165 °C, it provides crucial technical assurance for the safe storage of LNG fuel. Its highly efficient insulation performance is directly linked to the operational efficiency and safety of the ship’s energy system.
Through close collaboration with project partner FURUI and Passer Lanyu, DIMONDS’s technical team overcame complex construction challenges inherent to the unique application scenario on the cruise ship. This ensured high-quality installation of the insulation layer and the overall project schedule. This successful application not only validates the leading performance of DIMONDS’s ultra-low temperature materials in marine clean energy equipment, but also showcases the company’s comprehensive capabilities in solving complex technical challenges within high-end fields.
